Adam & Sarah and Jesse Hando
July 15, 2007 Adam and I are excited to have added a baby boy to our family. Jesse Samuel arrived on June 8, 2007 and weighed 8lbs 1 oz. We have been busy over the last couple of years. Adam and I have both been working on the farm. Adam loves driving the tractors in the field, and I enjoy working with the cattle. We are both excited to teach Jesse all there is to know about farming as he grows up, and I'm pretty sure Grandpa is too! Adam is still playing baseball on the church team, although he has only played one game this year as we have been busy with Jesse. Adam and I spent 6 weeks in Australia at Christmas. It was a great trip. We had a great time catching up with everyone, friends and family alike. We spent a week camping with close friends of ours. It was an amazing time, although it did get to about 38 degrees a couple of the days. Those were the days when we headed back to Adam's mum's house to stay out of the heat. We had a great time, which is good, because I think it will be quite a while before we get back to Australia now that we've started our family. We are now looking forward to Adam's family visiting us here in Canada. June 19, 2006 Adam and I have been married for 10 months and are loving married life. We are both very excited about the new addition to the family, our niece, Brenna. Now we are also waiting for a niece or nephew in Australia in September. We are both working on the farm and really enjoy it. For Adam, all this farming stuff is new to him as before he arrived in Canada he had hardly even set foot on a farm. That was just over a year ago, so I think that he feels a lot more confident in what he is doing. We have applied for immigration, but we will be waiting for a long time before any of that comes back. It takes at least a year, so for now, he has a work visa. We are planning a trip back to Australia for Christmas. We are leaving at the end of November and staying for 6 weeks. I know Adam is really looking forward to seeing family and friends and so am I. We miss everyone over there a lot. But it does give us the excuse to travel, so we can't complain too much!! Adam has been introduced to the Canadian sports and has become an avid hockey fan as well as baseball. He plays baseball on our Church team. I have never been the sporty type so I am content to watch and cheer him on! January 2006 Since my last update, I've finished my trip to Australia. I came back with my boyfriend, Adam Hando, and we got married in August 2005. We're living in an apartment in town now, and both of us are enjoying working on the farm and making connections - good friends - in the dairy world. Adam is currently working on his immigration papers so that we can officially settle here.
Quite a While Ago (what, 2003?): I am a bright, cheerful 18 year old (hehehe, jim). I just graduated from high school and have been working on the farm full time since graduation. I really enjoy working with dairy cattle. There are so many different aspects to dairy farming, and I enjoy them all. I'm just not the greatest with field work right now. I do chores in the morning, after milking. These chores include feeding all of our steers, dry cows, and heifers, as well as cleaning alleys, calf pens, and putting bedding in the barn. I am not at university right now, and am not sure whether or not I will be going. I am leaving in January for a trip to Australia and England. Our family has relatives and friends in both places, so I will be visiting many of them. I am travelling on a work visa to australia. As I will be there for approximately 6 months, I will need to find work to support myself. I hope to find work on a dairy farm out there. I really want to experience different ways of dairy farming. I was in the Southeast 4-H Dairy Club for 8 years. During those years, I served on the executive committee for three years. I was an Intermediate Liason, a Senior Liason, and during my last year, a Club Treasurer. 4-H was a great experience for me. I made many new friends, both within the club and across western Canada. It is an experience that I will never forget. So, now you know a little bit about me and I hope that you enjoy this website and that you find all of the information that you need. |
